"For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." (James 2:26)
A living faith means an active faith. And an active faith should be active not only in church on Sunday but also in every area of our lives—at work, at home, in social settings, at school, on vacation, and in the political arena. Below you will find a few suggested actions that will help you live out your faith in the political/legislative sphere. Please don't hesitate. Take action now! For suggestions on living out your faith in other areas of your life, visit our sister site, Catholic Witnesses.
This bill would ban abortions 20 weeks after fertilizations because evidence shows that babies at this age experience pain. The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was passed by the House in June, 2013. It is now in the hands of the Senate. Please help protect innocent children from the pain of abortion by asking your senators to support this bill.
This bill will help protect religious liberty from various threats posed by the Affordable Care Act and other threats in the area of healthcare. Please urge your senators and representatives to defend our religious freedom through this bill.
Considering the current threats to parental rights, we need an amendment to the Constitution to protect the liberty of fit parents to raise and educate their children. The amendment would protect parental rights from the threats of international law and from changing ideology in the federal courts. Please urge your member of Congress to become a co-sponsor of the Parental Rights Amendment.
